#Dance Dance Danseur Gets Teaser PV and New Visual, April Premiere Announced

An April premiere window has been announced for the Dance Dance Danseur anime adaptation. A teaser trailer and a new visual were also released, while Daiki Yamashita was revealed to be the voice of protagonist Junpei Murao.

The newly announced staff credits include Hisatoshi Shimizu (The Gymnastics Samurai director) as assistant director, Hajime Ootani (Pretty Boy Detective Club director) as ballet director, Mari Fujino (Sonny Boy) as art director, Kana Tanabe (RE-MAIN) as color designer, Madoka Yagi (ZOMBIE LAND SAGA REVENGE photography) as photography director, and MICHIRU (JORAN The Princess of Snow and Blood) as music composer. 

Meanwhile, Hitomi Hasegawa (Twittering Birds Never Fly – The Clouds Gather animation director), Masahiko Komino (Battle in 5 Seconds After Meeting), and Hiromi Kuroiwa (Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle: Rhyme Anima) are the chief animation directors while Takeshi Kuwahara (Mr Love: Queen’s Choice chief animation director) and Atsushi Ogasawara (The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace animation director) are the ballet animation directors.

Previously announced were Munehisa Sakai (ZOMBIE LAND SAGA REVENGE) as director, Yoshimi Narita (I-Chu) as series composer, and Hasegawa as character designer. MAPPA is the animation production company.

Dance Dance Danseur is based on the manga by George Asakura, which began in 2015 and has 22 tankoubon volumes as of December 2021. The Shogakukan-published manga is serialized in Big Comic Spirits and published under the Big Comics label.

The story follows Junpei, who has been interested in ballet since childhood but takes up Jeet Kune Do after his father’s death to be more “manly.” One day, the transfer student Miyako Godai, whose mother runs a ballet studio, appears before Junpei. Noticing the boy’s interest in the dance he had given up on, she invites him to the world of ballet.
