#Cynthia Nixon supporters weigh in on Cuomo’s scandals

Cynthia Nixon, who ran against Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2018, isn’t exactly telling New Yorkers “I told you so,” but her supporters are — and the actress-turned-politician is coming pretty close herself.

Nixon’s political allies began posting taunting photos taken during her campaign on Friday, mere hours after a seventh woman came forward and accused the governor of sexual harassment and top Democrats called on him to step down.

“Love this photo. Thank you @CynthiaNixon for supporting many of us when it was a big political risk to do so and for *always* speaking truth to power, then and now,” Democratic Socialist State Senator Julia Salazar tweeted, alongside a photo of the two embracing at a political rally.

“We coulda been like this,” @HunterBoone lamented, sharing the same photo.

The former “Sex and the City” star, 54, mounted a solid challenge against Cuomo in the 2018 Democratic primary, gleaning 33 percent of votes.

The declaration “Don’t blame me, I voted for @CynthiaNixon” was tweeted by multiple users.

“I am proud I voted for Cynthia Nixon,” Democratic State Sen. Jessica Ramos wrote, echoing City Councilman Brad Lander.

Nixon has ramped up criticism of Cuomo throughout the week as he faces sexual-harassment and nursing home scandals — and on Friday put pressure on City Council Speaker Corey Johnson to join the chorus of lawmakers calling on him to step down.

“I guess Cuomo still has one defender in the wake of —-sexual harassment charges —-avoidable nursing home deaths —-unsafely built bridges —cover-ups galore —etc etc How much more evidence do you need @CoreyinNYC ?” she wrote Friday afternoon.

Johnson — who recently announced a run for city comptroller — said earlier in the week he supported Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into the accusations against Cuomo, but later Friday called on the governor to step down.

Nixon on Saturday addressed the renewed show of support.

“People have been giving me a lot of props in the last few days for challenging Andrew Cuomo in 2018,” she wrote.

“But ⁦@ZephyrTeachout⁩ is the woman who started it all,” she wrote.

“Without her thrilling, eloquent, fearless run four years earlier I never would have found the courage. She is the OG,” she said, referencing Cuomo’s challenger in 2014, Fordham Law professor Zephyr Teachout.
