#Cuteness Overload in TOKYO MEW MEW NEW VA Unit Smewthie 1st MV “bitter sweet darling”

At the same time as the start of the song’s digital distribution, the official YouTube channel for the TOKYO MEW MEW NEW project also posted a full music video for one of the two startup songs, “bitter sweet darling” performed by its five-member voice actress unit Smewthie. This music video consists of a dance part by the members in unit costumes and a story part inspired by their anime characters, and is filled with Smewthie’s fresh and sparkling charm.

As part of the 20th-anniversary of the Tokyo Mew Mew manga created by Reiko Yoshida (story) and Mia Ikumi (arts), the new anime project was launched in April 2020. The new TV anime series TOKYO MEW MEW NEW is set to premiere in Japan sometime in 2022, and the unit’s five members will also voice the anime’s main characters.

Smewthie has also announced that their first event with an audience, “2nd MEW♡ting,” is set to be held at Science Museum’s Science Hall in Tokyo on May 22, 2021. They will perform full versions of the two songs they released this time, “bitter sweet darling” and “Resolution of color,” as well as try their first reading play. Ticket information will be announced on the official website and Twitter soon.

And, it was also decided that their fans would be called “MewXer.”
