#Crunchyroll – TYPE-MOON Announces August 2021 Release For Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon

TYPE-MOON has announced the release date for the long-awaited re-release of the Tsukihime visual novel first released in 2000. However, this release, subtitled Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- will be a reimagining of the original novel with a focus on Arcueid and Ciel’s routes collectively known as the Near Side routes, which are substantially expanded from the original game, at the expense of additional characters and routes from the original game.

To further drive the intent of this release as a reimagining of the original game’s Near-Side Routes, Arcueid’s route is titled ‘Moon Princess’ while Ciel’s route is titled ‘Rainbow of the Night’, with Type-Moon emphasizing that the excluded routes and characters from the original game will appear another time, in “another Tsukihime” that depicts “the other side of the moon.”

To celebrate the announcement of the release date, the official Tsukihime Twitter account released a new key visual illustrated by longtime character designer Takashi Takeuchi.

The game will be released on August 26th, 2021 on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan.
