“Crunchyroll Releases Third English Subbed Trailer & New Visuals For JUJUTSU KAISEN 0”

A third English subbed trailer has been released for the upcoming anime film JUJUTSU KAISEN 0, as well as new key visuals. Crunchyroll will screen the highly anticipated film on March 18, 2022 in select U.S. and Canadian theaters. The film will be available in both English sub and dub languages and tickets can now be purchased.

JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 recently became the 22nd highest-grossing film in Japan. It has so far grossed 12.4 billion yen (US$107.4 million) at the Japanese box office, sharing the spot with Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast film.

The main production staff for the film includes Sunghoo Park (JUJUTSU KAISEN) as director, Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan: The Final Season) as screenwriter, Tadashi Hiramatsu (JUJUTSU KAISEN) as lead character designer, and Yui Umemoto (Grand Blue Fantasy The Animation Season 2) as assistant director. MAPPA is handling the animation production.

The movie is adapted from Gege Akutami‘s manga of the same name. It was first serialized in Jump GIGA in 2017 for four volumes under a different title. It was later published as a single volume manga in November 2018. The story is a prequel to Akutami’s JUJUTSU KAISEN manga, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018 and inspired an anime adaptation in 2020.

VIZ Media describes the original manga as:

Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?
