It was also revealed that Shin Jigen! Crayon Shin-chan The Movie will begin screening in Japanese theaters on August 4. A teaser visual was released as well.

Hitoshi Oone (Sunny: Our Hearts Beat TogetherFireworks scriptwriter) is the writer and director of the film with Shirogumi handling the 3DCG animation. The cast includes Yumiko Kobayashi as Shinnosuke Nohara, Miki Narahashi as Misae Nohara, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Hiroshi Nohara, and Satomi Koorogi as Himawari Nohara.

Crayon Shin-chan began in 1990 as a manga by the late Yoshito Usui. The Futabasha-published manga ran until 2010 with 50 volumes before being succeeded by the ongoing Shin Crayon Shin-chan, which is credited to Usui and UY Studio. An anime series adaptation began in 1992 and is still on-going with over 1000 episodes. The anime’s 30th movie, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpuden, was released in Japan in April 2022.

One Peace Books describes the manga as:

Crayon Shinchan features a pint-sized terror who is a rude little dude that stands back-to-back with such contemporaries as the kids of South Park. So be warned, this hilarious romp isn’t for children; instead, Crayon Shinchan is an adult, tongue-in-cheek poke at modern domestic life.
