While the vast majority of the GOP continues to support President Trump’s bid to sow doubt and fight the election results to the bitter end, one prominent Republican stepped up with a hat tip to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their victory:
That raised eyebrows from those unwilling to acknowledge the results, but Twitter really turned on her following her next tweet:
As you can see from the “ratio,” Rice’s tweet didn’t go over so well. Being ratioed, in Twitter
TWTR,
parlance, means receiving more replies than likes or retweets.

The backlash rained down from both sides. First off, vocal Trump supporters across social media clearly aren’t anywhere near ready to throw in the towel and accept Biden as president-elect:
On the other end of the political spectrum were those not eager to hear anything from Hoover Institution director Rice, who served as national-security adviser and secretary of state under George W. Bush, and was one of the very few prominent Republicans to congratulate Biden:
So, judging from the reaction on Twitter, neither side of the political divide appears ready join hold hands in the spirit of unity. On Wall Street, meanwhile, investors seem to be on the same page: It’s time to buy.

was up more than 1,000 points to kick off what promises to be a busy week, while both the S&P 500
