#Cohen says he ‘felt absolutely nothing’ when facing Trump at New York fraud trial

Former attorney Michael Cohen said he “felt nothing” when he came face-to-face with his former boss.

Cohen, in an interview with CNN that aired Friday, suggested he was somewhat worried about how he would feel when he saw former President Trump while testifying in the New York civil fraud trial.

“I was confused on how I was going to be,” he told host Erin Burnett. “And actually, I felt nothing. It was so weird that here I am, sitting directly across from Donald Trump, and I felt absolutely nothing.”

“And then directly over his left shoulder was his son, Eric, who also I maintained a relationship with,” the Trump’s former fixer added. “And I felt absolutely nothing. I looked at him, and I said to myself, boy, what a sad-looking, pathetic, deflated individual.”

Cohen is the star witness in New York Attorney General Letitia James’s (D) case accusing Trump’s company of engaging in decades of fraud by falsely inflating and deflating the value of its assets to receive lower taxes and better insurance coverage.

His past disclosures on Trump’s finances is what led to the investigation, James has said.

The former president and attorney had not seen each other in person for quite some time. When Cohen entered the courtroom on Tuesday, Trump didn’t even look at him.

As the former attorney testified, the former president became more annoyed, shaking his head and throwing his hands in the air. His legal team also frequently objected to Cohen’s answers.

Trump accused Cohen of lying “like a dog on the stand” on Wednesday, and continued those attacks on Thursday.

“The Attorney General case against me in New York State just lost its STAR witness, SleazeBag former attorney Michael Cohen (he was disbarred for lying, and more!), who admitted to lying in this case and clearly stated that I did nothing wrong,” he wrote Truth Social.

“The unhinged Judge, a highly political and fully biased Trump Hater, refused to dismiss this HOAX of a case, and has lost all CREDIBILITY,” Trumo continued, adding “He should be ashamed of himself for having ruled against me before the trial even started.”

Trump’s comments come after Cohen was confronted with his 2019 testimony about the former president and his business practices that appeared to contradict testimony he gave earlier this week.

In his remarks, Cohen said Trump did not direct him to inflate his net worth. Earlier this week, he said otherwise.

Trump is expected to take the stand in the fraud trial beginning Nov. 6.
