#Classic Sci-fi Anime Film Roujin Z’s Soundtrack Album Gets CD & Vinyl LP Release

Roujin Z, a Japanese sci-fi anime feature film directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo (Blood: The Last Vampire) on a screenplay by Katsuhiro Otomo (AKIRA), was released in Japan in September 1991. The 84-minute film was highly acclaimed, winning the Best Animated Film Award at the Mainichi Film Awards that year, and has still been very popular in Japan and abroad.

To commemorate the 30th-anniversary of the film’s release, the soundtrack CD, composed by Bun Itakura (Urusei Yatsura 4: Lum the Forever), will be re-released on April 24 with the latest remastering and high quality Blu-spec CD2 specifications. At the same time, it will be available as an analog LP for the first time in a limited edition of clear red vinyl (transparent red).

The 30th-anniversary edition will also come with a booklet including the 2021 latest interviews with the film’s four main creators – Katsuhiro Otomo (original story writer, screenplay writer, co-mechanical designer), Hisashi Eguchi (original character designer), Hiroyuki Kitakubo (director), and Bun Itakura (soundtrack composer). In addition, its first press limited edition set includes a virtual analog single jacket for the film’s theme song “Hashire Jitensha.” The price for the CD is 2,750 yen (with tax / 25.74 USD), while that for the vinyl LP is 4,400 yen (41.18 USD).
