#DeSantis says he’s ready for next GOP debate and wasn’t so much a target at last one because of his ‘record of success’

Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis spoke in an interview with The Blaze’s David Rubin about his first GOP debate in Milwaukee, saying, he “wasn’t necessarily a target” because of his “record of success” as governor in Florida.

“I’ve done the things that people are talking about that we need to do for this country … So, I’m armed to say that I’ve done it,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis was asked about former President Trump not attending the first debate, saying, “he [Trump] owes it to the public” and him “being entitled to the nomination is absurd.”

During the interview, the Florida governor said he is ready for the next GOP debate as he believes it will be on a smaller stage due to some candidates not qualifying.

“It’s far be it from me to tell anyone who to run or not run, but you either have a path or you don’t. And if you don’t have a path, then we should focus on the candidates that have a conceivable shot at this,” DeSantis said.
