Chris Brown has been released from custody in London after posting $6.7 million bail, Reuters reports. The R&B singer is accused of attacking a music promoter in a London nightclub in 2023; he was arrested in Manchester last Thursday (May 15), and charged by prosecutors with “inflicting grievous bodily harm” in an “unprovoked attack.”
Brown, who is in the U.K. on tour, was initially denied bail when he appeared before a London judge last week. The decision would likely have cancelled his “Breezy Bowl XX” dates across Europe with Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller, but with Brown now free, those shows can likely continue.
Brown’s next court date is scheduled for June 20 in London; he has been ordered to surrender his passport when he is not on tour. He has not yet entered a plea in the case.
