“Chizuru Voice Actor Sora Amamiya Joins Rent-a-Girlfriend Live-Action Drama”

 

Chizuru’s Japanese anime voice actor Sora Amamiya has joined the cast of the live-action version of Rent-a-Girlfriend as the voice of a character from a video game Kazuya’s grandmother is addicted to. The official Twitter account for the live-action version of the series revealed the news alongside a comment from the voice actor.

 


 




 


 

Sora Amamiya’s comment:

 

“I never thought I would be involved in the drama version of Rent-a-Girlfriend, so I was very surprised when I heard about it. I was very happy to see how pleased the drama staff was when I recorded my lines!”

 

This is not the first time Amamiya’s anime roles have crossed over to live-action, with the voice actor also voicing the intercom in the live-action One Week Friends series after voicing the lead in the TV anime.

Rent-a-Girlfriend‘s live-action drama premiered on July 3 on TV Asahi in the Kanto area, meanwhile, the second season of the Rent-a-Girlfriend TV anime started on July 1 on MBS and TBS in Japan, and is streaming shortly after every Friday. Crunchyroll describes the series as such:

 

Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. “Ugh… Damn it. I never want to go through that again.” Completely spiteful, Kazuya uses a certain method to date a girl. He goes to their meeting place and suddenly hears, “You’re Kazuya-kun, right?” A beautiful girl brushing her long, black hair behind her ear was there, smiling at him. Her name was Mizuhara Chizuru. Something real is born after just a single rental! A reckless rom-com filled with love and excitement is about to begin!
