On Wednesday (January 20), Chicago native RondoNumbaNine took to his Twitter page to give his thoughts on not receiving a presidential pardon from No. 45.

On February 24, 2014, Rondo and his accomplice, Courtney Ealy, drove to an apartment complex in Chicago to retaliate for a shooting that happened earlier in the day. The duo saw their victim Javan Boyd sitting in a parked car, and as they approached the vehicle, they shot at it several times. They fled the scene shortly after, and Boyd was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.
Thanks to fingerprints and video surveillance footage, a judge sentenced Rondo to 39 years in prison in May 2016 for his involvement in the murder. The conviction was first-degree murder, and Rondo received the sentence alongside his accomplice, Courtney Ealy, who received 38 years for his involvement.
Rondo was a crucial figure in the Chicago drill scene before his arrest. He earned placement on Spotify’s RapCaviar Chicago Drill Rappers You Need to Know list in October 2020. However, his legal issues and criminal past kept him from seeing the fruits of his talents on the mic.
