The official YouTube channel for the TOKYO MEW MEW NEW project has posted a preview video for its two startup songs, “bitter sweet darling” and “Resolution of colors,” performed by its five-member voice actress unit Smewthie. The five members will also voice the upcoming TV anime’s main characters.

As part of the 20th-anniversary of the Tokyo Mew Mew manga created by Reiko Yoshida (story) and Mia Ikumi (arts), as well as the 65th-anniversary of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi shoujo magazine in which the manga was serialized, the new anime project was launched in April 2020. The new TV anime series TOKYO MEW MEW NEW is set to premiere in Japan sometime in 2022.

Smewthie‘s first digital single “bitter sweet darling” will be released on March 22, 2021. In addition to its coupling song “Resolution of Colors,” the single will also include each five member’s solo version of “bitter sweet darling.”
