The first episode of Oshiete Hokusai! THE ANIMATION, a short form web anime based on the manga by Naoto Iwakiri about an unmotivated high school girl learning about the wonders of art from numerous Japanese masters, has been published to Youtube for a limited time, and fans can watch it for a two week period that concludes on March 28, 2021.

The story of Oshiete Hokusai! THE ANIMATION follows Tenkorin Okakura, a high school girl who longs to be a great painter one day even though she lacks any motivation, talent, or study skills. One day, the thunder god Raijin from the famous “Wind God and Thunder God” Edo period folding screen painting appears before Tenkorin and offers to help her achieve her dreams of becoming an artist. By traveling through time and meeting famous figures in Japanese art history, can Tenkorin make her dreams come true?

THE ANIMATION runs for 10 episodes, with each episode being approximately 10 minutes in length.
