The official website for the upcoming feature film Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night posted a 30-second teaser trailer today. The clip introduces the characters taking up swords and fighting against the world in a desperate game world where “game over” means “death in reality.”

Sword Art Online Progressive is a reboot series that retells the first arc of the original series, “Aincrad Arc.” It includes episodes that were not told in the original story, such as the one where Kirito became known as the Black Swordsman. The Ayako Kawano (Love Live!, Love Live! Sunshine!! episode director)-directed film is set to be released in Japan on October 30, 2021.
