#Chained Soldier Releases Character PV Trailer for Shushu Suruga
A new character PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Chained Soldier TV anime series, featuring the character Shushu Suruga. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2024.
The 32-second trailer highlights Shushu using her powers to transform into a giant version of herself, while also taking advantage of the protagonist, Yuki Wakura.
Gorou Kuji (Bungo to Alchemist assistant director) is serving as the anime’s director, with Junji Nishimura (Vlad Love director) as chief director, Hiroyuki Yoshii (Just Because!) as character designer, Yasuhiro Nakanishi (A Couple of Cuckoos) as series screenwriter, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO (Attack on Titan Final Season co-composer) as music composer. Seven Arcs is in charge of the animation production for the series.

Thr anime is based on the dark fantasy action manga, written by Takahiro and illustrated by Youhei Takemura, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online magazine on January 5, 2019. Fourteen tankoubon volumes have been released as of October 2023. Yen Press releases the manga in English.
HIDIVE licensed the Chained Soldier anime series and premiered the first two episodes on November 17, 2023 at Anime NYC. It describes the synopsis as:
Two supernatural forces appeared simultaneously on Earth: entrances to another dimension known as Mato, and Peaches, resources that give unique abilities to women. From the Mato come Yomotsu Shuuki, dangerous monsters that leave destruction in their wake. The government’s Anti-demon Corps stands against these creatures, employing women empowered by Peaches to face the monstrous threat. Yuuki Wakura watches these forces clash from a distance, but when he unexpectedly runs afoul of a Yomotsu Shuuki, he’s rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the chief of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-demon Corp—and she sees something in him that could turn the tide of the monster incursion. Yuki holds the unique power to make Peaches more effective, but he’ll have to become Kyoka’s willing slave to join the fight against the Yomotsu Shuuki and save the world.
