#Cardi B Slams Mac Miller Cyberbullies: 'Ya Don't Care Until Till Somebody Is Gone'

Mac Miller was posthumously nominated at the 2019 Grammy Awards in the Best Rap Album category for his 2018 effort Swimming but lost to Cardi B’s Invasion Of Privacy. At the time, his family had stated if Miller didn’t win, they’d hope the honor would go to Cardi.

Following her victory, the outspoken personality declared she was sharing the Grammy with Miller who’d passed away in September 2018, just weeks after he released the project.

As Cardi was celebrating her new diamond-selling rapper title via Twitter on Wednesday (March 10), a fan brought up the Grammy win in a since-deleted tweet and attempted to negate her win. Responding to the comment in a flurry of tweets, the Bronx native took a moment to reflect on that time. In the process, she brought up Miller’s 2018 car accident and subsequent DUI arrest while simultaneously calling out Miller cyberbullies.

“His family didn’t have no mean energy so why you?’ she wrote. “I hate when ya make hate tweets like this to go viral but where was the love when ya bullied him for months on this app & he was crying out for help? Makin fun of him when he crash his car? Ya don’t care till somebody is gone.”

Cardi also talked about the negative impact cyber bullying can have on artists’ mental health, adding, “This is why I express myself whether is on live, twitter or curse people out cause some artist got soo much hurt inside from bullyin on these apps & they afraid to speak & turn to other thing to numb the pain Ya forgot real quick how when he drop the album ya was like ‘flop’ ‘NBC.’”

When someone claimed the initial since-deleted tweet about Miller and Cardi wasn’t a “hate tweet,” Cardi wasn’t buying it and replied, “Naaa re read it again! Why mention me ? And secondly why they don’t bring the fact that for months People picked on him and put him down on these apps now they only talk about the Grammy incident but don’t bring awareness to the bullying he went thru that affected him.”

She added, “Its not only about me. It’s every celeb. Then when they gone they bring up one lil issue but don’t bring the REAL ISSUE UP which is cyber bullying that brings mental health & depression. Miller was found unresponsive in his Studio City, California home on September 7, 2018. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office ruled his official cause of death was an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.

In the wake of his passing, Miller’s legacy continues to thrive with posthumous releases like Circles, which has remained on the Billboard 200 for over a year. Just last month, the album’s lead single, “Self-Care,” was certified 2x-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
