#Amazon’s Second ‘Prime Day’ Event Lands In October: Here Are the Best Deals to Shop

Amazon Prime Day is back… ish.

Amazon Prime members will have a second chance to score some steeps discounts and deals this year, with the site announcing its first-ever Amazon Prime Big Deal Day Event. First teased by Worldwide Amazon Stores CEO Doug Herrington on LinkedIn this summer, the newly-named “Prime Big Deal Days” event takes place October 10 and 11 with millions of deals across all of Amazon’s top categories.

The shopping event is expected to be similar to last year’s so-called Prime Early Access Sale (a.k.a. “Prime Day 2”) with 48 hours of deals. Herrington says the Prime Big Deal Day event will take place across 19 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.S. and the UK, and Amazon says the event is intended to “give our Prime members access to exclusive early savings this season.”

Here’s what we know so far about Amazon’s second Prime Day event for 2023 and what to expect from Prime Big Deal Day.

Is There a Second Amazon Prime Day for 2023?

Yes, the rumors are true: Amazon has announced a second Prime Day-type shopping event for 2023. The new Prime Big Deal Day begins Tuesday, October 10 at 3 a.m. ET and runs through the end of Wednesday, October 11.

Similar to last year’s second Prime Day, dubbed the Prime Early Access Sale, the Prime Big Deal Days are a great opportunity to get a head-start on holiday shopping and to get products in-stock (and on sale) before the Black Friday rush.

The short answer: yes. While Amazon offers thousands of daily deals online, the best deals are reserved for Prime Members.

Best Prime Big Deal Day Sales, Offers

Amazon says to expect the best deals this year on products from Dyson (including its line of haircare tools, stick vacuums and air purifiers); Sony (headphones and TVs); Barbie; SharkNinja (hair styling tools and vacuums); iRobot (makers of the popular Roomba robot vacuums); LG, Peloton and Jabra, to name a few.

Top deals last year included discounts on top name brands like Adidas and New Balance, and Amazon’s lowest prices of the year on beauty brands like Caudalie (Amazon is an official retail partner for the French brand), Murad, and Philips Sonicare, makers of the best-selling Sonicare rechargeable toothbrushes and the popular “Power Flosser.”

Expect a number of Fall Prime Day deals from Amazon’s luxury and premium beauty department, which carries brands like Drunk Elephant, K-beauty staple Laneige, Kerastase, Sunday Riley, Creed and others, in addition to the aforementioned brands like Caudalie and Murad. The premium beauty section is also where you’ll find deals on celebrity-approved skincare (like Vanessa Hudgens’ KNOW Beauty) and must-have collabs, like the OPI x Barbie collection.

Toys and games will be heavily discounted — just in time for holiday gift-giving. Amazon’s second Prime Day will feature top deals from brands like Hasbro, LEGO and Disney, along with the biggest discounts of the year on popular toys like Squishmallows.

Amazon also typically offers deals on streaming channels, that you can access through its Prime Video and Prime Channels hub.

And almost all of Amazon’s Alexa-enabled devices are expected to go on sale, including Fire TVs, Echo smart speakers and Fire TV Sticks. The best Prime deal we saw last year was 80 percent off select Fire TV Smart TVs, with many models starting below $100.

This year’s Fire TV sales include a $129 Fire TV 32” 2-Series Smart TV, and a massive Fire TV 65″ Omni Series 4K UHD for just $599.

This year, expect Prime Day deals up to 65% on eero Pro Mesh WiFi Systems; up to 45% on select Echo bundles; and up to 30% on select Kindle e-reader bundles, including Kindle Paperwhite Kids essentials bundle and Kindle Scribe essentials bundle.
