#Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ Drops Trailer, Starts on January 13

Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ, the next instalment of the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise’s D series, will begin its run on January 13 JST. A trailer, previewing newly announced opening song “Kirifuda” by virtual artist group V.W.P, has been released.

Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ is the sixth entry in the D series, following two seasons of Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress and three seasons of Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress. The show’s plot will revolve around six powerful cards, their chosen fighters, and a great battle of destiny.

Toshiya Miyata of Japanese boy band Kis-My-Ft2 is playing the protagonist, Akina Myodo. Other cast members include Jun Fukuyama as Gabwelius, Eri Yukimura as Hikari Myodo, Yuuka Nishio as Nao Inabe, Reiji Kawashima as Suou Yobitsugi, Haruki Iwata as Mikoto Saitou, Takumi Mano as Taizou Kiyokura, Shuuta Morishima as Masanori Iseki, and Amane Shindou as Megumi Ookura.

Takuto Yamada (Dropkick on My Devil!!! X co-director, Koikimo assistant director) is directing Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ with series composition from Shun Menjou (Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress trilogy card fight composition) and Takahito Oonishi (Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress Season 3 co-series composer).Tomokatsu Nagasaku (Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress co-character designer) and Hiroyuki Saita (Revue Starlight) are behind the character desgins.

Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ is the latest anime in Bushiroad‘s Cardfight!! Vanguard multimedia franchise, which started in 2011 and revolves around a trading card game. Other anime series include 2011’s Cardfight!! Vanguard, 2014’s Cardfight!! Vanguard G, and 2018’s Cardfight!! Vanguard.

The D series is a co-production between Kinema Citrus, Gift Animation, and STUDIO JEMI. It also features original character designs from CLAMP.
