The world of Call of Duty is expanding further and why not? After all, it is one of the best shooter-action game franchises out there. There has been a lot of hype revolving around Call of Duty: Vanguard in the past few months and rightly so, as the game is about to blow your minds. The game was revealed on 19^th August in a Warzone event and is all set to launch on 5th November 2021.

Alpha Testing

Since the game is now just two months away, it’s about time the testing of the game begins! We’re all aware of the concept of pretesting in which a few lucky players get the chance to play the game prior to its release. Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha Testing will begin this weekend on 27^th August and will be available till 29^th August.

The test “The Vanguard Champion Hill alpha” and will commence sharply at 10am PT on August 27. It will be a limited-time PlayStation exclusive pretesting, just like previous games in the franchise. This is indeed disappointing news for fans who do not own a PS device. For those who do, the good news is that you won’t have to go through an elaborate sign-up process to join.

In an official post, Activision said that the preload of the “Call of Duty: Vanguard” alpha will begin a few days before the actual test. So, you can download the file well in advance and start playing as soon as the alpha test goes live, without wasting any time. The preload of the alpha test begins today i.e., 23^rd August at 3am PT. Here’s what you’ll have to do.

Be a PS4 or PS5 owner
Go to the store, check out the listings, and download The Vanguard Champion Hill Alpha file.

That’s it, no pre-order or registration is required. So, if you are a PS4 or PS5 owner, just download it and be ready to check it out from 27^th-29^th August. As awesome as it is for PS owners, others will have to wait for the open beta in the second week of September.

The Vanguard Champion Hill

Now that you know how and when to check out the alpha test for Call of Duty: Vanguard, let’s talk about what it actually is. As it is pretty clear from the title, it would majorly focus on the new mode called “Champion Hill”. This new mode can be played in 2v2 and 3v3 configurations, where different squads will fight each other across four parts of a big map.

You will be able to use points accrued to buy perks, equipment, and killstreaks. A particular selection of weapons and attachments will also be available during the test. You can play as any of the 4 main characters and your goal will be to deplete the other team’s lives. It simple, effective, and probably enjoyable.

The pre-orders for Call of Duty: Vanguard will be available in September across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X/S, and PC. The game officially launches on Nov 5, 2021.
