A Brooklyn man was gunned down in broad daylight right outside his apartment building on Friday.

Deshawn Reid, 28, was fatally shot in the torso around 4 p.m. in front of his home on Ocean Avenue, near Crooke Avenue, police said.

Reid was rushed to NYC Health Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

An investigation into his death is ongoing and the shooter remained at large early Saturday.

The shooting is the latest during the uptick in gun violence in the city during the coronavirus pandemic, which has brought sky-high unemployment and fears of mass evictions.

On Friday alone there were 12 shootings with 20 victims across Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Manhattan. Reid was the one victim to have been struck fatally on Friday.
