#Brooklyn man, family locked in bathroom during home invasion

Two armed burglars terrorized a Brooklyn family in a home invasion earlier this week — threatening them with a gun and tying up an elderly man before fleeing with cash, cops said Thursday.

The terrifying encounter unfolded just before 6:45 p.m. Monday when the two men knocked on the family’s door inside the apartment building at Warren Street and Third Avenue in Boerum Hill, cops said.

The robbers then forced their way into the apartment after the 87-year-old man answered the door, according to police.

The elderly man was slapped in the face, threatened with a hammer and tied to a chair, police said.

One of the men pulled a gun, pointing it at a 38-year-old woman and her 6-year-old boy before forcing the family into the bathroom, according to police.

The robbers made off with $8,000 in cash, as well as a wallet and cellphone, cops said.
