#Bricks from NYC building crash into street after partial collapse

Part of the facade of a brick Midtown Manhattan building collapsed into the street on Wednesday morning, snarling traffic and wrecking at least one parked car, authorities said.

Bricks from the five-story building crashed into 38th Street near Third Avenue in Murray Hill at about 11:50 a.m., the FDNY said.

One person was injured and was being treated at the scene, they added. Their condition was not immediately known.

A black Cadillac sedan that was parked on the street in front of the building was destroyed by the debris, according to a photo from the scene.

First responders were cleaning up the scene Friday afternoon and traffic on the block had been stopped.

A Manhattan architect was killed in December by a chunk of facade that fell from a high-rise cited by the city Department of Buildings for dangerous conditions.
