An anime adaptation of the Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei ga Guigui Kuru manga by Taku Kawamura has been announced with a teaser trailer, teaser visual, and 2023 release window. A commemorative illustration from Kawamura was also released.

Shigenori Kageyama (Dynamic Chord) is directing the show with Takafumi Hoshikawa (Gekijouban Hakuouki Chapter 1 and 2 assistant director) and Shougo Yasukawa (The Executioner and Her Way of Life series composer) as series composers, Chikashi Kadekaru (Mieruko-chan) as character designer, and Toshio Masuda (Kamisama Kiss) as music composer. St.Signpost is the animation production company.

Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei ga Guigui Kuru‘s main characters Akane Nishimura and Taiyo Takada will be voiced by Konomi Kohara and Shizuka Ishigami respectively.

Originally a Twitter comic, the manga begin serialization in May 2018 in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker and will release its 13th tankoubon volume on November 22. The story revolves around the relationship between Akane, a fifth grader whose appearance causes her classmates to keep their distance and call her “Shinigami,” and the positive-minded transfer student Taiyo Takada, who finds Akane’s nickname to be cool and wants to befriend her.
