A professional bodybuilder, fitness influencer, and personal trainer died due to a freak accident while working out in a gym. Justyn Vicky dies at the very young age of 33 years old after a weightlifting mishap in the Paradise Bali Gym (Indonesia). Prayers and tribute poured for the Indonesian gym enthusiast. Paradise Bali mourned Vicky’s death and said that Justyn was “more than just a fitness expert; he was a beacon of inspiration, motivation, and unwavering support”.
Justyn Vicky’s cause of death explained
A video went viral on the internet where we can see Justyn Vicky trying to squat press 400 pounds (180 kg). With a barbell on his shoulders, Vicky started out strong with such a heavy weight. According to Bali Discovery, Vicky was working out in Paradise Bali on Jalan Danau Tamblingan, Sanur Bali. However, a freak accident would occur on Saturday morning, July 15, 2023. In the video, as Vicky was trying to hold the barbell, it was observed he struggled to sit upright and lift the weight. He was being assisted by a single spotter. But, both of them lost their balance and were unable to prevent Vicky from falling into a sitting position. This resulted in a fatal accident in which the 400-pound barbell snapped Vicky’s neck.
Justyn was rushed to the hospital and was given immediate emergency surgery. Despite the hospital’s efforts, Vicky sadly died shortly after. Vicky’s death was caused by “a broken neck and critical compression of vital nerves connecting to his heart and lungs,” according to the Daily Mail.
