The award-winning manga series Blue Lock has finally announced its TV anime adaptation, striking a goal with a teaser trailer. The trailer revealed the lead players and their voice actors, all the staff for the series, a visual, and a 2022 release window.
The main players are:
Kazuki Ura will be voicing Yoichi Isagi
Tasuku Kaito will be voicing Meguru Bachira
Yuki Ono will be voicing Rensuke Kunigami
Soma Saito will be voicing Hyoma Chigiri
Tetsuaki Watanabe (Haikyu!! episode director) leads the team as the director, with Shunsuke Ishikawa (Monogatari series episode director) as his co-director, Taku Kishimoto (Haikyu!!) writing scripts and series composition, manga creator Muneyuki Kaneshiro supervising the story, alongside Masaru Shindo (Fruits Basket 2019) drawing the main character designs, and Kenji Tanabe (The Millionaire Detective- Balance: UNLIMITED) and Kento Toya (Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld) drawing the other character designs with all three of the former as chief animation directors. The series will be produced at eightbit.

Blue Lock is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura and began serialization on August 1, 2018, in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The series won the “Best Shonen Manga” title in the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2021.
