# Blizzard Entertainment games coming to Steam, starting with Overwatch 2 on August 10

A “selection” of Blizzard Entertainment games are coming to Steam, starting with the free-to-play team-based hero shooter Overwatch 2 on August 10, the developer announced.

The PC version of Overwatch 2, as well as other recent Blizzard Entertainment titles like Diablo IV and Diablo Immortal, are currently only available via Battle.net.

“Battle.net is the home of all our PC players, and over the years, we’ve evolved our platform to support updated technologies, capabilities, and our communities’ expectations,” Blizzard Entertainment said in a blog post. “But as we’ve evolved, the industry has evolved too—gaming is no longer just for specific communities as it was when Battle.net launched over two decades ago, gaming is for everyone—and though we remain committed to continually investing in and supporting Battle.net, we want to break down the barriers to make it easier for players everywhere to find and enjoy our games.”

To play Overwatch 2 on Steam, players will still need a Battle.net account connected to the game. The Steam version will support Steam achievements and friends lists, including the ability to invite friends to play in-game.

Blizzard Entertainment will share more about “potential other games coming to the [Steam] platform when the time is right.”
