#Blade: Trinity Cast: Where They Are Today

“Blade: Trinity Cast: Where They Are Today”

The Blade franchise is a series of films based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name and focuses on a Dhampir named Blade, who hunts down and kills vampires to keep humans safe. Featuring a total of three films, the Blade franchise has been subject to mixed reviews. Fans enjoyed the action while critics took issue with the pacing, focusing more on style than on substance. That being said, the films have gained their own cult following, especially among the goth community.

With Blade setfor a reboot in the MCU, starring Mahershala Ali as the title character, it’s only right that we go back and revisit the original films that first brought the comic anti-hero to the silver screen. Considering that the final film in the franchise was 18 years ago, the time gap of interest in Blade leaves many of us wondering what exactly happened to the cast of Blade: Trinity. With stars like Wesley Snipes, Jessica Biel, and everyone’s favorite Ryan Reynolds, it’s hard not to wonder what the cast got up to after filming had wrapped. Here’s where the cast of Blade: Trinity is today.

8 Kris Kristofferson

Abraham Whistler is a fan-favorite character that is beloved by Blade fans everywhere. While Whistler has a greater role in the first Blade film, he does make a small surprising appearance in Blade: Trinity, reminding us of his sarcastic sense of humor that counters Blade’s serious mannerisms. Kris Kristofferson began his career as a singer/songwriter and branched off into acting, taking on a great many roles. After Blade: Trinity, Kristofferson went on to star in films like He’s Just Not That Into You and the Dolphin Tale series, Most recently, Kristofferson has showcased his acting skills starring in the historical miniseries Texas Rising, playing the role of U.S. President Andrew Jackson.

7 Dominic Purcell

Dominic Purcell plays the role of the film’s main antagonist Dracula AKA Drake, the original vampire who is resurrected by Danica and her minions. Purcell’s performance in the final installation in the Blade trilogy led to him gaining more attention from the industry. After Blade: Trinity, Purcell starred in a number of TV shows including Fox’s Prison Break, which won him an AACTA Award for Best Actor, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. Since Blade: Trinity, Purcell’s career has only continued to grow, starring in a number of films, most recently Blood Red Sky and Die Like Lovers.

6 Triple H

Paul Michael Levesque AKA Triple H is a retired professional wrestler who served as horrifying vampiric minion Jarko working for Danica. Blade: Trinity was Triple H’s first role on-screen, going on to star in small roles in films like Inside Out. It would seem that Triple H’s acting career has tapered off, with the last film he starred in being back in 2017. In 2022, Triple H officially retired from wrestling due to a heart condition. He now serves as the executive vice president of Global Talent Strategy and Development of the WWE and also works as the executive producer of NXT.

5 Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne is an often forgotten member of the Blade: Trinity cast, considering her character Sommerfield works with the good guys, helping to build them state-of-the-art technology to help defeat the vampires. While Lyonne’s time on-screen is not as ample as it should have been, this was only the beginning for Lyonne’s career. The actress has since become a household name, starring in a variety of films and TV series over the years, including All About Evil, Irresistible, Russian Doll, and most notably the award-winning series Orange is the New Black. Lyonne’s career shows no signs of slowing down as she is lined up to star in a new series called Poker Face.

4 Parker Posey

Danica Talos is the leader of the group of vampires who found Drake and want to use him to take down Blade and the humans. Parker Posey brings out her darker side in Blade: Trinity. Since the release of Blade: Trinity, Posey has starred in a number of films that have earned her award nominations, including Superman Returns, Broken English, and The Eye. Posey continues to work on both film and television roles, with her most recent work including the HBO Max TV series The Staircase. Posey’s career is only picking up speed recently as she is lined up to star in Tales of The Walking Dead.

3 Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel plays the role of Abigail Whistler, an ally of Blade’s and the daughter of the late Abraham Whistler. Learning as much as she could from her father, Abigail serves as a formidable ally with strong fighting abilities that make her a valuable asset to the team. After the release of the third Blade film, Biel went on to star in a number of films including The Illusionist, Valentine’s Day, and Total Recall. In recent years, Biel’s career has fallen somewhat flat until the release of the new TV series Candy in which Biel plays the titular role of real-life Candy Montgomery, a performance for which she has been nominated for a Hollywood Critics Association TV Award for Best Actress in a Streaming Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

2 Ryan Reynolds

Probably one of the most recognizable faces in the film is the face of Hannibal King, played by the hilarious Canadian Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds serves as a source of comedic relief throughout the film, but he is also useful in combat. Reynolds has gone on to star in a number of blockbuster films including The Proposal, Green Lantern, and most notably the Deadpool franchise in which he showcased a fantastic combination of comedy and action. Reynolds’ most recent works include Free Guy and Red Notice, available on Disney+ and Netflix, respectively. The actor has become a household name in Hollywood and is currently the most active of the cast members of Blade: Trinity.

1 Wesley Snipes

Wesley Snipes returned as Blade in Blade: Trinity, a film that, per Slash Film, he was famously not a fan of making for a number of reasons. Of all the cast members, Snipes was probably the most recognizable for his previous roles in films like New Jack City and White Men Can’t Jump. Since Blade: Trinity, Snipes has continued to take on acting roles including Brooklyn’s Finest, The Expendables 3, Cut Throat City, and the TV series Paper Empire. Despite his age, it would appear that Snipes is still taking on roles and shows no sign of retiring anytime soon.
