According to press materials, “Chondromalacia Patella” is about convalescence. The name refers to a knee injury sustained by one of the band members while running.
In addition to the new track, black midi have added new dates to their North American tour. They’ve also announced a May 26 listening party for Cavalcade, and a “Golden Ticket” contest, which runs until October 28. One golden ticket will be inserted into one Cavalcade LP in the United States and one in the United Kingdom. Anyone finds a ticket can claim one of three prizes: black midi will be the band at an event of your choice; you can hang out and collaborate in the studio with black midi for one day; or you can claim guest list spots for two people for all future worldwide black midi headline live shows for 10 years.
Cavalcade is out May 28 via Rough Trade. It follows the band’s 2019 debut Schlagenheim. On September 10, black midi will play Pitchfork Music Festival 2021. You can get tickets here.
