The 7th anniversary video for Yuuki Tabata‘s Black Clover manga has revealed a 2023 release date for the Black Clover anime movie that was announced in 2021. The video also contains some animated sequences.

The Black Clover anime series ran from 2017 to 2021 with character designs from Itsuko Takeda (Twin Star Exorcists sub-character designer). The first half was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara (Long Riders!, Chainsaw Man action director) with series composition from Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (In The Land of Leadale), while the second half was directed by Ayataka Tanemura (Devilman Crybaby and Symphogear XV episode director) with series composition from Kanichi Katou (Those Snow White Notes). Yoshihara became chief director for the second half. Pierrot is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast of Black Clover includes Gakuto Kajiwara as Asta, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Yuno, Junichirou Suwabe as Yami Sukehiro, and Kana Yuuki as Noelle Silva.

The Shueisha-published manga began in 2015 and is set to release its 32nd tankoubon volume on April 4, 2022. The series is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and published under the Jump Comics label. Shueisha also publishes the manga in English. The series has inspired spin-off manga, a light novel, and video games.
