#Missouri woman apologizes for praising ‘KKK belief’ to Black Lives Matter supporter

A Missouri woman has reportedly apologized for telling a Black Lives Matter supporter she intended to pass on her bigotry to her grandchildren — claiming she doesn’t remember making the comments.

Kathy Jenkins was caught on camera Sunday draped in a Confederate flag and extolling her “KKK belief” at a Black Lives Matter rally outside of a Dixie Outfitters store in Branson.

“I will teach my grandkids to hate you all,” Jenkins told one demonstrator during a heated exchange, video shows.

On Wednesday, Jenkins, who said she has since lost her job and left Branson, called into the KOLR10 newsroom and issued an apology.

“I’m so, so sorry,” she told the outlet. “I mean, if it would help for me to stand with Black Lives Matter, I absolutely would do that.”

Jenkins, who was gathered with roughly 50 counter-protesters, claimed on Wednesday that she unintentionally ended up with the group who supported the Confederate flag.

She said it was her first time to a rally, originally there as a spectator before being handed the flag that she assumed signified unity.

Before her on-camera remarks, Jenkins claimed to the station that she “was chanting Black Lives Matter.”

“I hadn’t said anything until they came into my face…It’s like I blacked out. I don’t even remember saying half the stuff that I said,” she claimed.

Faith Pittser, an organizer of Sunday’s Black Lives Matter rally didn’t buy Jenkins’ claims.

“She knew exactly what she was doing. She was there from the start on the counter-protesters’ side shouting obscenities and hateful words at our protesters,” Pittser said in a statement to KOLR10.

“I think her claims to not know what the Confederate flag is and what it represents are absurd and lies,” the organizer wrote.
