A sequel of the Cute Executive Officer original net anime series is set to premiere in early Spring 2023. The sequel is titled Cute Executive Officer R and will be streamed in Japan on various streaming platforms. The first ONA series aired on January 1, 2021.

The production team for the sequel will consist of Kazuya Iwata (Love After World Domination) as director, Satoru Sugisawa (Love After World Domination) as series screenwriter, and Susumu Watanabe (Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!) as character designer. Soshina is replacing H ZETT M as the music composer from the first anime, while FABTONE is returning to work on general music production. Project No.9 is returning to handle the animation production. 

All voice cast members from the first Cute Executive Officer series are set to reprise their roles for the sequel. The main cast includes Rina Hidaka as Najimu Mujina, Hisako Kanemoto as Mayu Warito, Sumire Uesaka as Yuki Karuizawa, Sayaka Kaneko as Garcia Dekasegi, Chinami Hashimoto as Riya Motohashi, and Aoi Koga as Nowani

New cast members for Cute Executive Officer R also include Ikumi Hasegawa as Yoshine Fudou, Yui Ogura as Ray Okano, and Akio Ohtsuka as Mugaku Hamaoka. 

The anime production team has also teased two mystery characters whose voice actors have yet to be revealed. They include Yamada-san; an office worker with two years of experience; and Dokudakomaru, a half-octopus employee who happens to work in the sales department. 

Actress Arisa Sonohara is performing the opening theme “Narase! Mujina Symphony.” Meanwhile, Rina Hidaka will be performing the ending theme “O-Hi-Me-Sa-Ma!” as her character Najimu, along with music unit Neko Hacker. 

Cute Executive Officer is based on a manga series by Odeko Fujii and was first launched in Curazy Manga and Comicwalker in January 2018. It was published by Kadokawa Shoten, who has released three tankoubon volumes as of January 2021.

Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime series and streamed it on HIDIVE. It describes the synopsis as: 

She’s not a genius. She’s not a prodigy. Heck, she’s not even old enough to vote! But somehow Mujina Najimu scored a totally above-average job as the president and “CEO” of the Mujina Company, where she navigates the world of adults with infectious, bright-eyed charm and enthusiasm. Whether it’s golfing with colleagues, negotiating contracts or pestering her executive assistant, Yuki, her hilarious antics are sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
