Vado has made his claim for the verse of the decade after the lyrical display he showcased on 2018’s “Da Hated” featuring Dave East.

With over four years passing since the track arrived and the calendar well into the 2020s, the Harlem spitter made the bold declaration in a recent Instagram comment regarding the greatness of “Da Hated.”

“If u ask me a verse of da decade,” Vado wrote.

TheHipHopWolf captured Vado’s claim for the 2010s best verse throne and rap fans had plenty to say in the comment section.

“Some stuff just hit better coming from certain people … if Drake or J said these bars the world would shut down lol  … Vado spittin,” one person wrote. Another added: “N-gga shit ain’t even better than East’s lmao Vado my dog tho!”

Others chimed in with their favorite verses in recent memory with multiple rap fans pointing to J. Cole’s bars on “Johnny P’s Caddy” with Benny The Butcher. Some flat-out preferred Dave East’s rhymes over Vado’s output.

The Vado “Da Hated” debate even reached Twitter as one fan vehemently disagreed with the 37-year-old rhymer. “Vado said his verse on ‘Da Hared’ is verse of the decade,” they wrote. “Don’t get me wrong he def was spittin on it! But verse of the decade??? NAH!!!”

“Da Hated” landed on Vado’s Sinatra 3 project. The Play Picasso-produced track served as the standout for S3 with Vado and his The Council teammate trading prolific rhymes.

The official “Da Hated” music video arrived in April 2018 via a DatPiff exclusive and the clip currently boasts over 3.5 million views as of press time.

Vado continues to say busy and has he kicked off 2023 with the hard-hitting “Gimme Freestyle” featuring the late Bronx native Fred The Godson.

As far as stellar bars go, HipHopDX crowned JAY-Z’s “GOD DID” verse Best Rap Verse of 2022. The promotional rollout for the single heard DJ Khaled claim that JAY-Z’s performance warranted verse of the decade acclaim.
