#First Two Monster Rancher Games to Return on Switch, PC, and iOS

The Monster Rancher series is finally ready to let you raise and train monsters once again, because the Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX collection is coming to the west. Koei Tecmo America revealed plans to bring the 1997 and 1999 games to Switch, PC, and iOS on December 9 in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary.

 

In addition to the ability to have additional save slots, Freeze slots, and Monster Hall of Fame slots, new features include memos to use while raising monsters, random battle rankings, and a high-speed mode.

 

As for how the original’s hook—which let players insert physical CDs to generate unique monsters—works in the new version, Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX comes with a database where you can search for CDs and generate monsters from their data. The database includes songs from around the world, so you should be able to find something to your liking.
