#T・P BON Anime’s Trailer Previews The Moral Quandary of a Time Patrol Agent

The Bones-produced T・P BON (Time Patrol Bon) anime adaptation has received an official trailer from Netflix.

Based on the manga by Fujiko F. Fujio, T・P BON follows the high school student Bon as he gets involved with the Time Patrol organization after an encounter with one of their agents, Ream Stream. The Time Patrol’s job is to save lives at various points in history, and the new trailer reveals that the story will take us to World War 2, the Greco-Persian Wars, Ancient Egypt, and even prehistoric times.

While Bon is initially excited about suiting up as a Time Patrol agent, the trailer quickly shows his distress at the fact that the Time Patrol cannot simply save anyone and everyone, lest its interference alters history. “Each one of them has a family back home!” Bon yells as he and Ream Stream navigate through a naval battle, causing the latter to respond, “You think I’m not feeling anything?!”

The T・P BON manga debuted in 1978 and previously inspired a 1989 TV anime special. This new anime adaptation will have two seasons. Season 1 premieres on Netflix on May 2, 2024, while Season 2 begins on July 17.
