Another childhood classic gets an adaptation and this time it’s going to be a “Beyblade” live action…

We received surprising news from the USA. The known Filmstudio Paramount want along with that Producer Jerry Bruckheimer the RTL2 classic «Beyblade» as Realfilm adapt. Other people are already involved in the project. Neil Widener and Gavin James are writing the film.

Bruckheimer has already adapted several works as real films. The most famous example is the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, which is based on a park attraction. With “Prince of Persia” he took a video game as a model and with “Beyblade” he has a media franchise from Japan in his hands for the first time. The writer duo is responsible for the screenplays of the upcoming sequels “San Andreas 2” and “The Unbelievable 3”. According to the deadline, the project is still in the initial phase, which is why no concrete dates are known. It is also not known exactly which product is to serve as a template; it is not yet publicly known whether one only orientates oneself on the toys or on the anime series. Whether the film will debut in cinemas, streaming or TV is also still a secret.

«Beyblade» is a multimedia franchise with various manga series, anime series & films, video games and the real toy series all about the Beyblades. According to the Japanese manufacturer Takara Tomy, more than 500 million Beyblades have been sold worldwide since their introduction in 1999. It remains to be seen whether this success can be transported to the real film.
