Midas Man, the upcoming film based on the life of Beatles manager Brian Epstein, was set to resume filming last month. The film tells the story of Epstein’s role in the creative ecosystem in the 1960s and his influence in the pop music industry at the time. However, the shoot has been rescheduled to pick up from January 2022 instead. The delay is meant to bring the new director, Sara Sugarman, up to speed with the production process so far.

It seems Midas Man is encountering a series of hiccups, as the film’s original director Jonas Akerlund walked out on the project this November. Additionally, a large portion of the original cast also parted ways with the film. The filming originally began in October. By the time filming recommences in January, the project would have undergone a three-month break already. As a result, many have expressed concerns regarding the funding of this independent film.

However, the production team assures that there are no issues with funding or scheduling.

There is no delay. Midas Man filming remains very much on schedule to complete the movie. The new production team is now on board. U.S. filming commences in LA in late January. UK filming picks up after that. Nothing to see here.

Despite all the delays, ‘Midas Man’ Remains a Film Worth Looking Forward to

Although the project has been encountering quite a few hurdles, the ones at the helm seem quite optimistic about the project. Especially the current cast of the film, which has been the talk of the town for a while now. Apart from a diversified roster of talent, it was recently revealed that the Comedian/Late Night Show host Jay Leno will be playing the role of iconic American TV Personality Ed Sullivan.

The actors playing the Beatles are an extraordinary group they ooze that very visceral feeling of the 60’s, are charming, playful, and so authentic and I have no doubt that Jay Leno will capture the essence of Ed Sullivan perfectly. His own experience as an American television host will bring forward a natural, and accurate portrayal and add an incredible element of modern showbiz to the story. – Sara Sugarman, Director

The lead character of Brian Epstein will be played by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, whose last notable performance was in the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit. Jonah Lees will be playing the role of John Lennon, musician Blake Richardson will be Paul McCartney, Leo Harvey Elledge is George Harrison, and Campbell Wallace will play Ringo Starr.

Midas Man will be produced by StudioPow and Trevor Beattie Films. Twickenham Studios Chairman Sunny Vohra and former Lionsgate UK President Nicola Pearcey will be presiding as the Executive Producers.
