Following a teaser last week, Bandai Namco has announced a visual adaptation of SAND LAND, a manga by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from May 22 to August 28, 2000. The visual adaptation is produced by Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and ANIMA. It will premiere in 2023.

According to Bandai Namco, the SAND LAND Project will see “various partners come together to create a wide variety of contents and develop SAND LAND into a full [intellectual property],” starting with the visual adaptation. Given that the project is being promoted on Bandai Namco Entertainment‘s social channels—which is Bandai Namco’s video games division—it is possible a game is also planned.
