#Bam Margera sues over firing from new ‘Jackass’ installment

According to Bam Margera — a skateboarder and television personality best known as one of the original stars of MTV’s “Jackass” series — he claims it’s the entities he’s now suing.

Margera, 41, filed a lawsuit on Monday against a number of names including longtime co-star Johnny Knoxville, director Spike Jonze and Paramount — alleging that he was wrongfully terminated from the forthcoming installment of the “Jackass” film franchise, “Jackass Forever,” that’s out on Oct. 22, Variety reports.

Margera was axed last fall after allegedly testing positive for Adderall, which violated a “wellness agreement” he signed. News of him being canned became official in February.

The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Knoxville, Jonze and director Jeffrey Tremaine coerced Margera into signing the agreement during a stint in rehab in 2019 — and that he offered up his John Hancock without any opportunity to have it cleared by an attorney. The agreement stipulated that Margera undergo multiple daily drug tests, both scheduled and unscheduled, and take prescription medications. If he didn’t go along with it, Margera would be nixed from “Jackass Forever.”

And despite being prescribed Adderall for a decade, the suit charges, he was fired after testing positive for the drug. In one section of the lawsuit, Margera is compared to the ongoing Britney Spears conservatorship case — and it says that he’s become a victim due to his mental health struggles.

“Paramount’s inhumane treatment of Margera cannot be countenanced,” the suit reads. “Margera was made to endure psychological torture in the form of a sham Wellness Agreement, and then ultimately terminated for his protected class status due to his mental condition, and his complaints about Defendants’ discriminatory conduct towards him.”

In a press release announcing the filing of the lawsuit, Margera said, “I am pissed-off, angry, hurt and shattered that Johnny [Knoxville], Jeff [Tremaine], Spike [Jonze] and the studios and producers ripped off my creativity, content, and stunts to make this movie, fired me without justification, and refuse to pay for my work; I created this franchise before any of these guys ever got involved.”

He continued, “My lawsuit isn’t just about compensation. It’s about treating people with mental health and addiction issues in an honest manner and not taking advantage of their disabilities to rip them off.”

A lawyer for Knoxville and Jonze did not respond to The Post’s request for comment. Representatives for Tremaine and Paramount also didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

Margera had previously been open about other struggles, including alcoholism — which he discussed in a 2016 episode of “Family Therapy With Dr. Jenn” on VH1.

“My first drink, I was 21 and I never drank before that,” he said on the show. “When I really started drinking, I was probably 24, 25 … It just slowly became waking up and sipping on a drink as soon as I got up … one is too many but a thousand is never enough.”

In 2018, Margera was arrested for a DUI and headed to rehab. After appearing on “Dr. Phil” in 2019, Margera checked back into rehab.

In a May interview with GQ, Knoxville brought Margera up in discussion.

“I don’t want to get into public back-and-forth with Bam,” Knoxville told the publication. “I just want him to get better.”
