A woman was killed and two others were hurt when a car got wedged between two light-rail trains in downtown Baltimore early Thursday.

Three people were trapped, including a 30-year-old man and a 7-year-old child, following the accident involving two Baltimore Light Rail trains and a car at Howard and Mulberry streets, WJZ reports.

Two trains were traveling in opposite directions when a car ran a red light at an intersection and crashed into them, officials told the station.

The man and children were extricated from the vehicle and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital, while the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, WJZ reports. It is unclear who was driving the car.

The identities of the victims in the 7:30 a.m. wreck were not immediately released, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Video from the scene shows firefighters and emergency officials clearing the crash site, which shut down several blocks.

The Baltimore Fire Department confirmed in a tweet that a woman died in the incident.
