The premiere of the Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence anime adaptation has been delayed from April to July. The announcement cites production delays due to the spread of COVID-19 as the reason.

The April release date was announced last September.

Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence is based on the Kodansha-published manga series by Hazano Kazutake, which began in 2017 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of November 2022. The manga is serialized in Shounen Magazine R and published under the Kodansha Comics Monthly Magazine label. 

Kodansha USA describes the premise as: 

Saint Cecilia is beloved by the townspeople—not only is she elegant and composed, she benevolently shares her wisdom with all who seek it. That is, until the last person has left—at which point she becomes totally hopeless! Only Pastor Lawrence is keeping the Saint put together enough to do her duties…and though she may test him, it’s all in a day’s work!

Sumie Noro (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle assistant director) is directing Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence with Yuka Yamada (Tokyo Mew Mew New) as series composer, Hiromi Nakagawa (WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me) as character designer, Chieko Nakamura (Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop) as art director, Seiichi Sugiura (Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won’t Lose) as photography director, Genta Makabe (Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won’t Lose) as color designer, and Ruka Kawada (Kiniro Mosaic: Thank You!!) as music composer. Doga Kobo is the animation production company. 

The main voice cast includes Hime Sawada as Cecilia and Kaito Ishikawa as Lawrence.
