Well, so much for keeping things on the DL! Avril Lavigne just confirmed her new romance — making her surprise breakup even more Complicated!

To catch everyone up, the Canadian pop-punk icon broke off her engagement with Mod Sun last month. Well, kind of. When TMZ first reported they had broken up, Mod Sun’s rep told the outlet it was “news to him” if she had called off their union. Well, we guess that’s just how he got the news. Ouch. Because shortly after that he kinda sorta confirmed the breakup by posting on Instagram that his “entire live completely changed” and his heart was “broken.”

So we were pretty clear they were splitsville. But what was going on with Tyga? The rapper was spotted grabbing dinner with the Sk8er Boi singer just days before the breakup rumors started. They even hugged. But it wasn’t exactly confirmation of romance. In fact, an “insider” assured People everything was platonic — and nobody cheated:

“Avril and Tyga are genuinely friends and nothing more. There was absolutely no third party involved in the split.”

Not that we really bought that in the first place (kinda felt like a PR person trying to save some face for Avril), but that just-friends façade got a lot harder to maintain as the pair kept getting spotted together everywhere, including at Paris Fashion Week shortly afterward.

Well, we guess they finally decided to say eff it on Monday night as they got as coupley as it gets during the Mugler x Hunter Schafer Party. It’s not just that they looked like they dressed to match — though they kinda did, with Tyga sporting oversized grey slacks and jacket, and Avril rocking a charcoal diamond-encrusted hoodie and thigh-high black boots. Yeah. No denying it anymore! We guess they just got tired of the charade and decided to loudly and proudly declare, I’m With You!

They make a cute couple, and far be it from us to deny Avril going for what she wants, but… from all the evidence it seems pretty clear the songstress stepped out on Mod Sun with Tyga before he even knew what happened? We mean What The Hell, right?
