The Last Days of American Crime movie is now playing on Netflix, but audiences may find it triggering

A new action-packed movie has arrived at Netflix, but it may not be for everyone. The  Last Days of American Crime movie features police brutality, looting, strong violence, and everything you may not want to watch for entertainment during these times.

Action movies are actually some of my favorite. That and comedy are my go-to genres, maybe with a splash of drama. And though we all crave some adrenaline from time to time, especially now that no one is very active as we continue to practice social distancing and businesses are slowly opening, The Last Days of American Crime may not be something you want to watch right now.

Please note: If you haven’t watched The Last Days of American Crime movie, but plan to, the following won’t include any spoilers for the movie.

The Last Days of American Crime movie triggers

The Last Days of American Crime follows Graham Bricke (Edgar Ramirez), a criminal who wants justice after his brother was killed by the police using a signal that interferes with your mind. The plan the United States government has is to launch the American Peace Initiative, which will shoot out this signal that will make it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit a crime.

This begs the question, is this a robbery of freedom? Is living in a police state what we need to watch right now? These are topics very relevant today, more now than ever.

The government doesn’t mind these methods being tested out on people, mostly criminals, even if torture is involved. Needless to say, it’s not easy to watch.

Netflix should have pushed the premiere date of the movie back a bit, but it’s still not a great movie, all things considered! Unfortunately, the acting and story are mediocre. While I do admit the premise itself is interesting (on paper), it never launches successfully.

Instead, The Last Days of American Crime drags audiences along for two-hours to give us a far-fetched and disappointing finale. Watch it at your own risk, but there’s so much more currently streaming.
