Over the weekend, footage of “Fake Drake” and “Perkio” hanging out hit the internet in a link-up that’s been dubbed “Attack of the Clones.”
The duo filmed two TikTok videos together showing them “performing” the 6 God and Smurk’s hit collaborations “Laugh Now Cry Later” and “In the Bible” while posted up outside of a house in Miami.
Another video uploaded to Instagram show the pair performing a sketch in which Drake’s doppelgänger excitedly tells a friend about a “crazy hit” he has coming out, only to be upstaged by Lil Durk’s lookalike. “It was an OVO ting, but it’s OTF now,” the friend jokes.
Fake Drake and Perkio were also seen hanging out at a club together, with the former sporting an all-white outfit complete with an OVO jacket and the latter rocking a red 7220 cap that barely concealed his blond Durk-esque dreads.
Fake Drake (whose real name is Izzy) rose to prominence last October after fellow Canadian rapper Tory Lanez posted about him on his Instagram Story. “Wayne and Drake in one spot!” Lanez joked while filming Lil Wayne and the 6 God’s lookalike inside a Miami nightclub. “What a night LOL.”
Fake Drake sightings soon became a regular occurrence in clubs throughout Miami, with the impersonator — who has a Certified Lover Boy-style heart shaved into his hair — even “performing” Drizzy’s songs to nightclub crowds. During an interview with No Jumper last November, Izzy claimed he’s made it all the way onto the real Drake’s radar.
“[One of Drake‘s friends] got in contact with Drake and Drake was just like, ‘It doesn’t bother me, it doesn’t affect me. Let the guy get his bag. It’s not affecting me. If you think it’s gonna go wrong if you’re posting him on your [Instagram Stories] and everything, just keep the peace,’” he said. “He didn’t really give a fuck, you know? That was the whole thing.”
Perkio, meanwhile, catapulted to viral fame earlier this month after Lil Durk posted a TikTok video of his lookalike and a lady friend miming along to “Difference Is” to his 13 million Instagram followers. The doppelganger also appeared in a YouTube prank in which he fooled shoppers at a Broward County, Florida mall into thinking he was the real Lil Durk.
Just days later, Durk cast his dreadlocked twin in his “Blocklist” music video before bringing him out on stage during his recent 7220 Tour stop in Miami.
