Publisher Koei Tecmo and Gust have released the prologue trailer and first Switch gameplay of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, as well as detailed the game’s free updates planned for release in late December and late January in Japan.

Here are the update details:

Free Update #1 (Late December)

• Photo Mode expansion update – Place monsters!
• Weasel Roast No. 2 and 3 – Aim for the highest score!
• High-difficulty mode “Legend” added

Free Update #2 (Late January)

• Photo Mode special update – Dedicated motions and frames added!
• Atelier series background music pack – Enjoy background music from Atelier series and Gust titles!

Koei Tecmo and Gust also announced several upcoming Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy collaborations, including:

• Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV: Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle – Details to be announced at a later date.
• Uncharted Waters Online: Lost Memories – Seven Wonders – Ryza and Lent enter the world of Uncharted Waters Online in the “Alchemist of Secret Waters” collaboration event. Acquire their weapons, costumes, and a special ship crest.
• #Compass – Sentou Setsuri Kaiseki System – Collaboration planned for 2021.
• Blue Oath – Special event collaboration planned for early 2021.

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is due out for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch on December 3 in Japan, and for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on January 26, 2021 in North America and January 29 in Europe. The PlayStation 5 version is a digital-only free upgrade for users who purchase the PlayStation 4 version.
