#Asian man brutally stomped in NYC in medically induced coma

An Asian man who was savagely stomped while collecting cans in East Harlem has been been placed in a medically induced coma, police sources told The Post.

The 61-year-old suffered a cerebral contusion and facial fractures from the Friday night beatdown, the sources said.

Cops said the shocking attack is being probed as a hate crime.

A disturbing, 12-second video released Saturday by the NYPD shows the 61-year-old being repeatedly kicked at around 8:20 p.m. Friday after being attacked from behind at the foot of a 19-story apartment building under construction at 3rd Avenue and East 125th Street.

EMS transported the victim — who suffered severe head trauma — to Harlem Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

The vicious attack comes amid a rash of hate crimes against Asian Americans in the boroughs and beyond.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, white sneakers and a multi-colored baseball cap, police said.
