Ashnikko, the U.K. alt-pop star who broke out in 2019 with TikTok hit “Stupid,” has announced details of their debut album. WEEDKILLER is due on June 2 via Warner Records and is preceded by new song “Worms,” which can be streamed below. WEEDKILLER features appearances from Ethel Cain and Daniela Lalita

WEEDKILLER follows Ashnikko’s 2021 mixtape DEMIDEVIL and features the previously released “You Make Me Sick!” The concept behind the album is described in press materials as being “a commentary on environmental disaster and the rapid evolution of technology” that tells “the story of a fae civilization occupied and destroyed by machines that feed on organic matter where the faerie protagonist seeks revenge by becoming part machine.”

In a statement, Ashnikko says: “My bioluminescent heart is glowing. My post-apocalyptic fae world is here for you to journey into. My wings have been ripped out, but I’ve built them anew using WEEDKILLER machine parts. I am the one sent here to eliminate you, WEEDKILLER.”

Alongside the new album, Ashnikko has also announced details of a world tour, taking in stops across North America, U.K., and Europe, Asia, and Australia. Tickets are available from March 10. See below for North America dates.
