#Young people think Joe Biden will lead US out of recession: poll

America’s young people are confident President Joe Biden will lead the United States out of recession.

More than four out of five Americans between the ages of 18 to 41 said they trust the Biden administration to “do a good job of handling the economic recession,” according to a Hill-HarrisX poll released Friday, Newsweek reported.

The same survey found that rosy assessment fell off sharply among older voters, who were evenly split over whether Biden would be able to steer the country out of its morass.

Unsurprisingly, the biggest point of departure fell along political lines, with 93 percent of Democrats saying Biden was doing a good job. That sentiment was shared by 62 percent of independents and just 30 percent of Republicans.

The survey provides some of the earliest data points about the public mood of the new Biden administration. The findings were taken online from 941 registered voters on Jan 21 and 22 — Biden’s first and second full days in office — with a margin of error of 3 percent.
