“#Sacred Bones Releasing Lost Alan Vega Album Mutator”
After Suicide frontman Alan Vega died in 2016, his friends and collaborators began assembling a wealth of unreleased material. Sacred Bones has announced plans to release a series of archival releases from the Vega Vault. First up is Mutator—an album of material recorded in New York between 1996 and 1998 with his wife and frequent collaborator Liz Lamere. It’s out April 23. The first single “Nike Soldier” arrives with a music video directed by Jacqueline Castel. Watch it below.
“In all of his artistic expressions Alan had a unique ability to pull from an eclectic mix of cultural references and turn them on their head,” Lamere said in a statement. “If we asked him to to give us a quote about ‘Nike Soldier’ he’d say “Do it just.’”
